Piano Keys

PIANO

Whether you have a child who is an aboslute beginner, or whether you are returning to lessons as an adult after a long hiatus, learning to play the piano helps one develop independence and strength in both hands as well as both sides of the brain and is the most common instrument on which to begin music lessons. Having a solid foundation on the piano is an excellent gateway to learning other instruments.

Woman Singing for Performance

VOICE

Singing is the most natural form of music making. ANYONE can sing! Through voice lessons, you will not only develop the physical and technical ability to sing well, but you will also build your confidence and grow the skills needed to communicate directly with an audience.

Saxophone on Music Sheet

SAXOPHONE

The saxophone is one of the most dynamic and expressive instruments. The main saxophone family members include soprano, alto, tenor and baritone and the study of any of the saxophones will introduce students to vocal like expression, creative improvisation, and a knowlege of several musical styles.

playing Flute

FLUTE

The flute is one of the most popular band instruments and study of the flute lays the ground work for learning other wind instruments such as the piccolo or saxophone. Study of the flute increases overall breath support.

Clarinet in orchestra

CLARINET

The clarinet has the widest dynamic range of any woodwind instrument and was the instrument of choice for many composers' most famous musical themes. It is a great instrument for learning and practising sight reading skills and is a second or even third instrument for many saxophonists.

Sheet Music Edits

THEORY

Theory exams are now incorporated into every level of practical examination with the Royal Conservatory of Music as corequisite requirements. The study of music theory can help a student better understand a composer's intentions as well as the context in which the music was composed, enabling the student to perform music more stylistically. Budding composers themselves need a firm command of musical and harmonic language to bring their ideas to life.
