STUDIO POLICIES

LESSON YEAR

The Freeman Music Studio lesson calendar follows the public school system school year. Lessons begin the week of of Labour Day and finish the final week of June. There are a total of 40 lessons from September through June. Summer lessons run from the week of Canada Day and finish the week before Labour Day.

There are no regular lessons during Christmas Break (two weeks) or during March Break (one week). These weeks are not included in your tuition and therefore do not incur any makeup lessons.

There are no lessons on the following holidays:

Labour Day

Thanksgiving

Family Day

Good Friday

Victoria Day

Canada Day

Civic Holiday

If your lesson falls on the above dates, your lesson will be either rescheduled to a different date or a makeup lesson will be incurred.

Music Lesson Fees: Online or In Person

Regular weekly students

30 min private lesson - $35

45 min private lesson - $50

60 min private lesson - $65

Regular biweekly students

30 min private lesson - $40

45 min private lesson - $55

60 min private lesson - $70

Casual lessons - $75 per hour

Accompanying fees: (varies by level and duration)

RCM/CC Exam - $40-60

Masterclass - $35-45

Festival - $30-40

Audition - $30-50

Regular weekly and biweekly students are put on an equal monthly billing plan during the regular school year (40 lessons divided into 10 months from September through June). Summer lessons are billed monthly.

Lesson fees may be paid one of the following ways:

1. Enrol in our pre-authorized debit program administered by Plooto (please contact to enrol).

2. Submit postdated cheques made payable to Freeman Entertainment, dated for the first of each month. (10 cheques for September through June school year, 1 cheque for summer term).

*A late fee and/or NSF fee will be charged to late or returned payments.

ABSENCES & MAKEUP LESSON POLICIES

Students will receive makeup lessons for 2 missed lessons with 24 hrs notice per term (Term 1 - Sept through Jan, Term 2 - February through June) and 1 missed lesson with 24 hrs notice during the summer term. Any missed lessons without sufficient notice given, or over and above the allowable number, will be forfeited. There are no makeup lessons for missed makeup lessons. All teacher absences will incur a makeup lesson. We reserve the right to use a substitute teacher as necessary. Makeup lessons will be scheduled for a mutually convenient date and time and may be held in person or online.

ILLNESS:

Should a student be too ill to attend an in person lesson, they may opt to have their lesson online. Should symptoms or illness persist, the lessons will be moved online until all symptoms are no longer present. Any students exhibiting any signs of illness will not be permitted to attend their in person lesson.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:

Should a student feel unsafe traveling to the studio due to weather conditions, the lesson may be held online instead.
